Police book nine students for ragging

Parbhani (Maha): Nine students of a local veterinary college have been booked for ragging their juniors, police said.
 
The offence was registered at Nava Mondha police station here.
    
According to police, 24 junior students were tortured physically and mentally by the senior students.
 
The accused are identified as Nikhil Deshmukh, Pandurang Ghuge, Arun Shinde, Balaji Jadhav, Mahesh Bhuktare, Nilay Raut, Sidheshwar Badane, Ravindranath Etalwad and Vikas Gadewad.
 
According to police, the incident had taken place a few days ago. However, when a professor came to know about the matter, he lodged a complaint.  

HP Police introduces online system of exams

Chamba (HP): The Himachal Pradesh Police department has introduced an online system of examinations for the first time in the state.
 
Initially, a two-day departmental exam in information technology to the posts of head police constables had been conducted through the online system at the district headquarters, District Police Chief, Madhu Sudan Sharma said.
 
In the two-day examination, which concluded here, 63 police personnel had appeared, the police chief said.
 
The examinees were issued the copy of their result soon after the exam, Sharma said.
 
The online system would avert the possibility of leak of question papers, he said.
