Maharaja Sayajirao Varsity hikes fee, introduces slew of short term courses

Vadodara: The Syndicate of the Maharaja Sayajirao University here approved a new additional fee structure.
     
Yogesh Singh, Vice-Chancellor, said the students will have to pay an additional Rs 240 each year in all the courses from the academic year 2012-13.
     
This will affect more than 36,000 students.
     
The Syndicate also okayed the proposal to start short-term courses by the Centre for Continuing and Adult Education. These courses are: Basic Mathematics (30 days), Understanding and Dealing with Teenagers and Adolescents (30 days), Development of Strategy for Examination Preparation (15 days), Excise Duty and Procedure (90 days), Service Tax and Procedure (90 days), Indirect Taxes and Procedure (90 days) and VAT Accounting and Procedure (90 days).

M.S. University to take help of e-board for teaching


Vadodara: M.S. University will take help of e-board for teaching. University has set up 65 wi-fi digital board at the cost of Rs. 32.5 lakh.

University Grants Commission has given gant for the digitalisation of the study process. As a part of it electronics interactive white boards have been set up. Speciality of these boards are it can be used like black board, but with magnetic pen.

Due to these boards concept of virtual classroom will be possible and students as well as teacher can be in touch with students or teachers of other University to know about latest research or they can discuss study topics through this new arrangement.

Teachers can use animation, audio-visual films, and photographs to teach students more easily. This will also be make learning process faster with the help of graphical data & charts of science & technology.
