Google signs MoU with NIIT


Chennai: Google introduced a comprehensive training program for young professionals in India in alliance with NIIT.
Aimed to bridge the digital skill gap in the country and help students and professionals capitalize on the emerging job market for the online industry, Google has identified the progammme as ‘Google Web Academy (http://www.niitgooglewebacademy.com/). 

Under the initiative, NIIT will be Googles first partner to offer specialized courses through its centres across the country.

Speaking about the launch Rajan Anandan, VP & Managing Director Google India, said “As the Indian internet market continues to show robust growth, we believe a capacity building program to help young professionals gear up for the opportunity is the need of the hour.”

Commenting on the launch of this initiative, Vijay Thadani, Chief Executive Officer, NIIT Limited said, “At NIIT, we have always taken the lead to address the need for professionally trained manpower for promising sectors, through cutting-edge IT training courses .”

NIIT launches NGuru Math Lab at city corporation High School


Chennai: Launching a breakthrough initiative that aims at making the vital subject of mathematics simpler,  easier and fun to learn for school students, NIIT installed the state-of-the-art ‘NGuru Math Lab, at Chennai Corporation High School, Mylapore in Chennai.

Chennai Corporation Mayor, Thiru Saidai Duraisamy inaugurated the revolutionary concept.

‘NIIT NGuru Math Lab is a novel concept that enables school students to learn and explore mathematical concepts and verify mathematical facts and theorems using tools such as the Geometers Sketchpad. Structured on NCERT guidelines, this is a dynamic construction and exploration tool that spans the mathematical curriculum from Standard 1 to 12, being made available to Indian schools by NIIT.

Speaking on the revolutionary teaching learning solutions from NIIT NGuru,  NIIT MindChampion Viswanathan Anand said, “With a vision to create ‘schools of tomorrow, NIIT has designed complete education and technology solutions to engage students, teachers and parents alike in the whole process of learning. This pioneering initiative by NIIT will help the young generation script many success stories in their life ahead. Math Lab has been specially designed to add a fun quotient to the subject that is usually feared by students.”

In addition to providing greater scope for individual participation in the process of learning and becoming autonomous learners, the Math Lab also enables the teacher to demonstrate, explain and reinforce abstract mathematical ideas by using concrete objects, models, charts, graphs, pictures, posters, etc.

NIIT to conduct IT Aptitude Test-NITAT on February 19


Chennai: NIIT, announced to conduct IT Aptitude Test - National I.T Aptitude Test (NITAT) to enable students and graduates to ascertain their aptitude towards the IT industry.

'NITAT 2012, will be simultaneously conducted in over 200 cities nationwide, on February 19, 2012.

NITAT has been designed as an objective type test of reasoning, comprehension, data interpretation skills and behavioural traits. Every student undergoing the test will receive a score-card with their interpretation, along with her/his nationwide and zonal ranking. The assessment is expected to be of particular benefit to graduating students in determining their aptitude for IT careers as well as the IT domain that they should take up.

Students can register online by logging on to www.niit.com/NITAT or by visiting the nearest NIIT centre.
