Tamil Nadu govt has proposed to implement ICT-based curriculum


Chennai: TamilNadu government has proposed to implement ICT-based curriculum in more than 2000 schools in the next five years, announcing an initial allocation of Rs.31.21 crore for this purpose.

Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa has also directed setting up of 'Smart Schools' in five government-run schools in Theni, Madurai, Virudunagar, Dindigul and Namakkal districts, sanctioning a sum of Rs 26.70 lakh out of the total Rs.1.25 crore.

The ICT-aided curriculim will cover a total of 2341 schools and will be implemented on the Build-Own-Operate-Transfer (BOOT) mode, a state government release here said.

Further, smart schools will also come up in five schools in Tiruchirappaly district, it added.
