Puducherry: Puducherry government has drawn up plans to establish a super specialty hospital and medical college in Karaikal, Chief Minister N Rangasamy said here.
He stated this while intervening to reply to DMK member A M H Nazeem's remarks during the debate on the motion of thanks to Lt Governor`s address in the Assembly.
Rangasamy said government also planned to establish a medical college in Karaikal under private public partnership mode. `We will not ignore Karaikal and these measures are being actively considered by the government` he said when Nazeem, hailing from Karaikal, said a number of measures announced were yet to see the light of the day.
V M C Sivakumar (Independent) also from Karaikal who participated in the debate, pleaded for steps to intensify grant of full statehood for Puducherry.
