Rs. 3,800 crore proposal for revamping BHU


Varanasi: The Banaras Hindu University has made a Rs. 3,800 crore proposal for revamping the university and opening up new departments.

The university's working committee held a meeting in New Delhi yesterday and discussed the proposal for improving its infrastructure and opening up new departments under a five-decade vision plan, University Vice Chancellor Lalji Singh told mediapersons here today.

Under the proposal, the university will construct a 4,000-rooms hostel, new schools for science and management education and a separate cancer hospital. The Vice Chancellor said that residential buildings for around 1,000 employees will also be constructed.
