Assembly informed about central fund in Nagaland


Kohima: Nagaland government told yesterday, the state assembly that it had received Rs 212.16 crore and  Rs 43.06 crore from the Centre under Sarva Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) and Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyan (RMSA) respectively during 2008 to January 2012.

Replying to a question from opposition leader Tokheho Yepthomi, School Education Minister Neiwang Konyak tabled in the house the documents contaning year-wise break up of the total amount distributed to each school during the same period.

Later responding to a query, Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio informed the house that 28 directorate buildings were constructed during 2001 to 2011, while 13 directorate buildings were under construction. He said over Rs 275 crore were spent for the purpose.
