Chennai: From the forth coming academic onwards, community, income and nativity certificates will be issued to students in the 6th standard itself, the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa told the Assembly.
She said the new change would avoid the unnecessary delay in issuing these certificates, which are important for obtaining scholarships, getting admission into hostels and higher educational institutions.
This change will benefit around 12 lakh students in the State every year.
Currently, these certificates are issued in the 10th and 12th standards.
