Mumbai: National Law University (NLU) campuses will come up at three places in Maharashtra, including Mumbai, for encouraging and promoting advanced learning in the field of law.
Minister of State for Higher and Technical education D P Sawant told that the three places are Shendra near Aurangabad, Vasai near Mumbai and in Nagpur.
The existing law colleges will be attached to the main universiy. Certificate courses in cyber and forensic laws will be upgraded to degree courses and attached to the NLU, he said.
At present, there are such universities in 14 states. He said the NLU proposal will be approved before the Cabinet soon and it is likely to come up for discussion in the ensuing Budget session of the state legislature.
