Chennai: Dr J S Sathyanarayana Murthy, an eminent interventional cardiologist, has been appointed the new Vice Chancellor of Sri Ramachandra University (SRU).
He succeeds Dr S Rangaswami, an eminent Orthopaedic Surgeon, who completed his five year tenure, the University said in a press release.
Presently Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiology, SRU, Murthy has over three decades of teaching and clinical experience.
A Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the Royal College of Physicians (Glasgow), Murthy has received Dr K S Sanjeevi Award and Life Time Achievement Award of Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University.
