Tiruvarur: The Central University of Tamil Nadu here has taken steps to introduce a course in law for which it has been holding discussions with National Law School, Bangalore.
In a press release here today, Vice Chancellor of the University BP Sanjay said an integrated B.Sc, B.Ed course would be introduced soon.
This apart, he said a two-year post-graduate course on media and communication would be rolled out for which a state-of-the-art studio would be set up.
It was also proposed to introduce new PG courses on mental health and social sciences. The university would conduct the entrance examination for admissions into eight central universities in the country at Tiruvarur this year, he added.
He said they had received Rs 200 crore as funds so far and made optimum utilisation of the funds. The new campus of the university is coming up at Nagudi and Neelakudi Village, five km from Tiruvarur and hoped they might move into the campus by next year.
The university is also involved in teaching English and Mathematics to school students in the district in a cluster approach, he said.
